Detox – Day 19 & 20

The Ultimate Battle: Movie Popcorn vs Willpower.  The popcorn won, although I bought the smallest amount possible and surprisingly, that was enough. I usually go for the largest size I can get and it never seems like enough. This time, less was really more!

We saw the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie at Our Town Cinemas, a small, terrific local theater with executive-style chairs, small tables, beer, wine and a full menu.

While I gave into my popcorn predilection, Dave opted for a very small cheese pizza.  By the time the movie was over, his neck was aching and his stomach was upset.  While it was an excellent teaching moment, it was a less than excellent outcome.  Was it the gluten or the cheese or both? 

Tomorrow at dinner we officially end our cleanse.  However, today we loaded up on veggies and fruit, and bought a vegetarian magazine for the recipes. 🙂

And the movie was enjoyable, despite being a bit formulaic.

Two days of eats includes:

Breakfast:

  • Mixed berry juice with pumpkins seeds
  • Countertop juice (any fruit that was on our kitchen counter) with spirulina
  • Almonds
  • Figs

Lunch

  • Corn & bean salsa
  • Watermelon
  • Wrap with grilled zucchini, tomatoes, olive oil and spices
  • More watermelon

Dinner

  • Grilled eggplant & brown rice
  • Veggie sushi
  • Aforementioned popcorn & pizza
